Restorative Yoga is a practice using supported poses to relax on multiple levels to release tension and to tap into our body’s natural healing and restoring abilities. Restorative Yoga is a gentle practice that creates the space and conditions for the student to access their wisdom physically, emotionally, and mentally. Our bodies have the ability to heal and thrive when we learn to balance all the doing with being. We live in a body that has an amazing system already in place to find the path to health and happiness. Restorative yoga can help awaken students’ awareness of the effects of stress so that they may release and make conscious choices of their next thought, word and action. This training will give you the information and tools to begin teaching this practice to groups and individuals. You will learn the science behind the feelings and experiences of being alive in this incredible time of information and stimulation. You will learn the function and importance of a soft deep breath. You will practice restorative yoga and learn basic poses that can be adapted to different bodies and emotional states. You will learn to teach your students, or remind them of their ability to connect with their body, emotions, and thoughts. This training will impact the way you teach other types of yoga and your own personal practice. This training is aimed at adding tools to the established teacher’s tool bag. This training is appropriate for those wanting to deepen their understanding of and practice of restorative yoga.
