Wake Up Yoga's Foundational Teacher Training Program

"Thanks for sharing your TT open class plan.  It is really cool to see how your teaching style and language has evolved.  In some ways I can't believe you were in training only 10 years ago.  Your teaching style is so nuanced and gracious.  I really appreciate all the work you are putting into the teacher training program.  Your energy and commitment are inspirational."

Visit this link for details specific to the Foundational Teacher Training Program that begins in Fall 2011--
Wake Up Yoga's 250-hour Foundational Teacher Training Program, Fall 2011 - Spring 2012

Taught by Corina Benner, and assisted by highly esteemed Wake Up Yoga teachers.

Immerse yourself in the teachings, the practice and the joy, discovering for yourself the timelessness of this ancient practice. Our program has been carefully designed to empower you with the tools necessary to teach safe, effective and inspiring yoga classes. Upon completion of our program students are eligible to become Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT) with the Yoga Alliance.

This adventure includes an in-depth study of 50 asana(s), approaching them in the context of physical alignment, actions in the pose, and hands-on-adjustments. Pranayama, the yoga of breath, will be investigated as you chart the movement of life force throughout your body. Our Teaching Methodology segments deeply investigate what it means to be a yoga teacher, how to utilize the skills you have to effectively communicate, and also how to unravel the mystery of crafting exquisite, inspiring yoga classes. Ultimately, this training provides a safe and sacred space for you to study yourself as you study yoga, giving you the structure and courage necessary to live in line with your highest ideals.

Our program provides many opportunities to practice teaching so that you find your authentic voice. There is plenty of hOMework, including books to read and respond to, essays for personal integration, and responses to the auxiliary workshops, and a practice journal to keep. You must also take 54 yoga classes at Wake Up Yoga during the course of the program to viscerally integrate the information you are learning.

And, finally, the community that forms throughout this transformative program is one of incredible support. Friendships made here are maintained well beyond class time as you bond with like-hearted people committed to walking the same path as you.

A vital requirement of our program is that students have a committed vinyasa yoga practice. Please see the application for additional requirements.

Dates for the 2011-2012 are being set. We hope to have this information available online soon. If you have any questions about Teacher Training at Wake Up Yoga, please call the studio at 215.235.1228 or email Alane@wakeupyoga.com.
